Why "The Whiteboard Room"
People ask me all the time: Why “The Whiteboard Room”? To clear up the confusion I will tell you how I came up with this prophetic (fingers crossed, hands folded in prayer, on my knees) company name. Here is the story…
For a long time I have known my mission (which is also The Whiteboard Room’s mission): To inspire people to their potential for greatness. So I took a step back. How did I get to the place where I knew my mission, my purpose, my calling? I mapped it out - my story, my goals, my hopes and dreams, my personality, and all the little things that make up who I am; and I did this on a… wait for it… WHITEBOARD! That sparked an idea to help others discover their own unique potential through a similar process.
This can get messy. It can be challenging. And it is hard to see how all of the pieces fit together until we allow the mess, take a step back, and let someone in to look at everything objectively. Whiteboards allow us to mess up, they are a blank canvas where we can shoot out ideas and thoughts without the weight that comes with permanent marker.
When I was challenged to go out on my own and pursue my passion I thought about what that would look like. If I accepted this challenge, what would I want. When it comes down to it there are a lot of layers but at the end of the day, if all my dreams came true, what would it look like? ...A whiteboard room. Literally. I want a room full of whiteboards and other creative elements where people can come, process, be coached, be inspired, and discover their potential for greatness.
The Whiteboard Room is my goal, my ‘end in mind.’ And I want to continually see and be focused on where I am going. So that is why “The Whiteboard Room”.
Be great!
